Churches Together

Churches Together Bishops Stortford 2Churches Together Bishops Stortford – CTBS exists because Christians in Stortford believe that being a Christian is more important than belonging to any one particular denomination. St James is committed to its aims and objectives because it is in working together as Christians that we can be so much more effective in our community.

Our aim is to:

  • reach out and serve our local communities.
  • help groups of churches to share resources and work together on projects of mutual interest (such as Holiday Bible Week and Street Pastors).
  • help churches share ideas and best practice in serving the needs of the town.
  • identify areas where all the churches in the town can work together to achieve things which are either not possible for any single congregation or are better achieved together.

If you happened to be in town on Good Friday you will have seen the churches walking together through the town in remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the core belief that binds all Christians together.

You may also be aware of the pre Election Hustings event at the Charis Centre in May 2010, when prospective MP candidates answered questions from the public, which was organized by CTBS.
