International Giving
Here at St James we have been extremely fortunate, over the years, to have so many members of our Church who have been both generous and understanding of the need to balance the 3 financial needs of a modern Anglican church.
That is
1. The current, day to day, pastoral care and teaching for our parishioners
2. The giving and helping others in the UK and overseas
3. The maintenance of our buildings – an integral part of the cultural heritage both of Western Europe and the New World
At St James we are embarking on a spirit driven project to engage with all local people – to enable them to know Christ for themselves
1. The Broken Hearted
2. Those in Need
3. Children
We are committing ourselves, in faith, to open up new channels of communication and ensuring we do in fact pass on to the wider UK population that they do not need to continue lives with no aim – we are convinced that there are many, of all ages, who are being called and need to be welcomed to Christ
At the same time we are intent on increasing our help for others worldwide – and maintaining our properties in pristine condition for the benefit of all today – and future generations
Help from those with resources around the world is most gratefully acknowledged

Local & UK Giving
The Church of England has given us guidelines on how we should think about giving
That we should as Christians be setting aside some 10% of our net income, of which 5% direct to the church community we are part of and 5% to others
At St James we take the view that giving is a personal matter, when we are going through a difficult financial time ourselves it is not always possible to follow this guidance, however when times are good we can show our gratitude by giving generously
